TAXI

Oliver Perrottet is a taxi driver, mapmaker, and photographer based in Zurich. While driving through the city as a taxi driver, he continued to photograph Zurich during the quiet moments when there were no passengers in his car. This photobook was born from that everyday gaze. What appears in these images is not the spectacular face of the city, but its quiet atmosphere, the small dramas hidden in daily life, and landscapes that occasionally carry a sense of solitude. Because these photographs were taken in an era before social media, they feel less concerned with appearance or staging, and more deeply connected to the photographer’s inner state. In these images, affection for the city and a slight loneliness seem to coexist.
