Helmut Newton kept the Polaroids he took as test shots before his final shoots. This book brings together a selection of Polaroids chosen from more than 300 works shown in the 2011 exhibition Helmut Newton Polaroids at the Museum of Photography in Berlin. The layout is minimal and beautifully restrained, with only one or two Polaroid-sized images placed on each page. Newton has been highly regarded for his bold and often controversial scenarios, as well as his ability to make carefully planned photographs appear fresh, dynamic, and almost like accidental moments. Through these Polaroids, we are able to glimpse the fragments of thought and the visual process behind his perfectly finished images. It appears to have been reprinted or republished, and the photobook is still available today through its publisher, TASCHEN. 224 pages / 28 × 21 cm / Hardcover
